Rennes, FR is piloting AVs

An old automobile manufacturing hub and one of the first technoparks established outside of Paris, the City of Rennes began a 6-month pilot of two Navya driverless shuttles in the Beaulieu Campus of the University of Rennes.

Line 100 is a special 1.3 km line that runs alongside the C-4 bus network from Monday to Friday. Following the completion of the pilot in mid-June plans to extend the service to connect to the Beaulieu-University train station are being discussed.

Project funding came via the Territories of High Ambitious Innovation, a 10-year €450 million initiative spearheaded by the French National Government. Partners include the City of Rennes and Keolis, a transport provider.
