Candiac, CA is piloting AVs

Candiac, a planned city and a suburb of Montreal, formed in 1957 through the pairing of Canadian and European investors.

For 12 months beginning in September, residents will have free access to a single Navya driverless shuttle running a two-kilometer route. The shuttle will connect André-J.Côté Park, City Hall and the Chartwell’s Montcalm Retirement Complex, a senior home. The project is set to cost $750,000 and the Government of Quebec will be shouldering close to half the amount. Other partners include Keolis Canada, Propulsion Quebec, Cluster for Electric and Smart Transport and Technopole IVEO.
